1 clove garlic – $0.05

Heat olive oil in a pan on low.
Add peeled garlic clove whole.
Cook for 2 minutes, or until the oil is infused with the garlic.
Remove garlic and discard.
Add bread to the pan, tossing to coat.
Season with salt, pepper, and thyme (if desired).
Continue cooking the bread, tossing occasionally, until it is toasted on all sides.
Alternatively you could do them in the oven at 350F.
Spread the bread on a baking sheet in a single layer.
Drizzle with oil.
Bake for 10 minutes each side or until crisp.
